Got one and am going. Glad to be rewarded for 10 plus years as a sprint customer. I'd imagine non-premiere customers are a little PO'd about these invites though... Don't hate the player, hate the game. :)
Nah, I'm a non-premier customer that don't feel anything about this one way or another. I'll get a pre when I get a pre. I'd rather have it on day 1 but it doesn't matter. I'm not one of those stand in line guys, so I may wind up having to wait for the hype to die down a bit or get online like I've always done.

I have been with Sprint for 10 years. They tell me via customer service that my account is a Premiere-3 account, but I never received the welcome kit, nor did I get this email.
This has been confirmed as real, correct? I'm a Sprint Premiere customer as well. No invite. Just got off the phone with Sprint Retentions and the csr refused to believe this was real. Nice.
I asked her if I could email the invite to her and did. She got it and again questioned it as she'd heard nothing about it (how could it be real if SHE hadn't heard of it :)
She was nice, but I again pointed out that this is the problem with Sprint, there is NO in-house/inter-departmental communication (but I said it in a nice way :)
Then I noticed that the invite story was leading on Precentral, so I directed her to the site, but she said it was blocked (Dieter!, OH NO!) She said she'd follow up, which means the round file for me.
Ahhh, Sprint. As satisfying and stress-relieving as a warm summer day...
Sprint probably blocks this site to reduce the temptation to comment.

um yeah....that's not how the upgrade works. WITH your 150 upgrade you pay 299 and get a 100 mir. if you weren't eligible for the 150 upgrade you would either pay the full 549 price or you'd get the early upgrade which is 75 off FULL RETAIL, no mir, no store overlay.
i do like the customer's way of thinking daily though...that their 150 upgrade comes off the big price listed that says "with 2 year agreement and mir". y'all actually think that 49.99 listed for a rant means you'll get 100 in the mail so sprint is paying YOU 100 to take the phone. LOL
I bet you need to be within a certain radius of one of the parties to get an invite. Seeing as I am 100 miles from Boston I doubt I will get an invite even though I am a premier customer.

At this point, I think it's obvious to everyone else.
Did not receive the e-mail yet, but rep at my local store called me and advised me that my appt for 10 am on the 5th, which I had set to ensure that as an SP I did not have to fight with the "campers", would have to be changed to 6pm on the 5th. He told me that Sprint is closing the store to all but SP's on the 5th who will be allowed into the store @ 6pm to play with and purchase their Pre's.
Nothing yet. I will be out of town anyway, but it would be nice to get the invitation.
this is great and all but it totally sucks scrotum!!! being an employee and having this stupid bs MANDATED blows. EVERY employee is REQUIRED to work 6-12 that night, on top of our regular 8 hour shift. this is some major bullsh*t!
C'mon dude... It's just 2 days of longer hours (launch party & early open time on Saturday). Consider it a great way to help ensure the overall success of your company (read "job retention"), which is huge in our current economy. I'll personally thank every sprint employee there if I ever receive my invite!

If all Sprint stores are closing early, then maybe all premiere customers will have the option to go on the 5th and purchase the pre. Maybe the invitations are to special launch parties in certain areas, but all premiere customers will have the opportunity (without an invitation) to go on the 5th and buy the pre at any sprint store.
Just talked to a Sprint CS. Said that it did NOT have to be the primary # to get the full upgrade if a premier account (are there different types of premier accounts???). Also, haven't gotten my email yet but did see the sign in the store today that states closing the store @ 4pm on the 5th and re-opening @ 8am on the 6th.
you were informed wrong. ONLY the main line on a premier account is eligible for premier benefits. other lines on the account follow normal policies and procedures.

Start at the Sprint page. The ad banner at the top has a "Meet the Palm Pre" button. You'll be presented with the Now Network splash page which goes to the pre. There's a series of boxes on the right. Upper right is labeled 'Buzz About Wireless' with scrolling text of recent posts. clicking the arrow will take you to the Buzz forum where you can find a subject thread - Palm Pre Launch Party.
Not yet, hope soon though. I am in Tucson and did a dance when I saw we would have a party.
By the way those of your that are getting them are they being sent to a basic email or your sprint email?

to everyone. i have been looking up some info about this new sprint launch with this new phone and it seems as though sprint has another phone on it's way not only is the palm eros coming but according to an engadget site there is a htc touch pro 2 coming. Get this, it's coming later in June or July. Saw a couple of pics from engadget. I think that's why sprint wants to finish the mail in rebate in July so they can push the htc touch pro 2 and the eos

Got mine at 5:55 as well. And don't laugh about the one being in Wichita..cause Sprint's headquarters is in Kansas. I'll be going to the one in Kansas City across the street from the new Sprint Center Arena.

Like a normal individual would, I called sprint's "Premier Customer Service" and the lady swore I would have to wait till 6th and that I must be making up this bs party with "celebs" at a freaking cell phone store!

I'm about 5 miles from Boston, a premier member and did not get invited, but I wouldn't go even if I was. Kind of a weird thing if you ask me.
I have been a Sprint customer continuously for 12 year...probably longer than many people out there. I know I am premiere, as I have previously received emails about offers, event, etc. for premiere members.
But alas, no invite for me.
I think response will be huge, it they are guaranteeing people to be able to buy one.
So apparently Premier customers are the only ones worthy of trying out the phone before they buy it? I've never been a Sprint customer (but am about to be). I'd think they would want prospective customers to have a chance to check out the phone before hand as well.
It may sound selfish (because yes, I DO REALLY want to try out this phone) :-), but I think this sends the wrong signal.

What they really should have done is rent stadiums in large cities and have a big party and sell-fest. It would have been huge. Now, instead, they will have tiny stores crammed with hundreds of people. And they will run out of phones.

I'm a Premier customer and live over 100 miles from any corporate Sprint store. I've called two and get the same message from both that all customers including premier customers will be treated on a first come/first serve basis and the Pre will not be available early for premier customers. Bummer :(

Just talked to my guy at the sprint store. He said that the info he has so far is that every sprint store will be having a June 5th thing for premiere customers. I live in a small town outside Austin, tx and my store is having it. There will only be a handlful of the large parties in the big cities. He said that not everyone will get the email at one time because of the number of emails going out. He said you have to be a premiere customer and you had to pre-register for info on either sprint or palm. He said it is too late to register now.
Just spoke with my rep in Columbus as well. Same as above. The emails have not been sent out yet, but will be soon. All stores will have special hours.

Sprint did this last year with the Instinct.I got a email a week before launch and, got the phone a day before the offical launch.Have not recieved a Pre invite email yet.

My local Sprint shop seems to think that many more June 5 invitations are yet to come and that they should all be sent by May 30th.
sprint is ridiculously disorganized.
i've been on sprint about 11 years. single line, usually the cheapest plan, same phone number the entire time. i was sent a premier packet in january and i tossed it. off contract about 2 years. my samsung a900 looks like it has been through two wars. lol
i called the special premier customer service # from the sprint premier website, but she wasn't too helpful. she verified i was premier, but couldn't confirm that i could attend the pre-launch event after i was on hold for awhile. she suggested i call a local store and showed special hours on 6/5 and 6/6 (which is almost all of them around san jose).
then i called a local store, got transferred to the manager, who verified i am premier-3. apparently there are different premier levels depending on how much your plan is, seniority, # of lines, etc. he (or she?! hard to tell, lol) said i am eligible to attend the event, but didn't bother to say if an invite email was coming or not. she/he just said they are not allowed to sell them before 6pm on friday the 5th. advised me to come early because likely there are "a lot" of premier customers who will want one.

This information is bogus. As you can see there is no affiliation with Sprint or Palm on this site and the hacker who provided the information somehow forgot to include the location of the "event". Handsets officially go on sale 6/06/09 no pre-sale for any customer regardless of standing. Sorry!
You are completely wrong, invitees will be buying and taking home their Pres on June 5 at the parties.
There is no "location" because there are over 1,000 parties.
The June 5th sales to Premier customers at the parties are not "pre-sales" which refers to sales made with no handset delivered, which Sprint does not do, but sales of the handset to the best customers and day early -- just like Instinct.
June 5 for good customers, June 6 waiting in line to be disappointed, for the rest.
Your comment is laughable. I have seen verifications from DOZENS of people who have been invited in various cities across the country.
I love how when Sprint tries to show gratitude to their long standing customers by inviting them to get the phone a day early everyone says this sends the wrong signal that they are being unfair and don't care about new customers.
So then when Sprint gives the new contract price to new customers but not to current Sprint customers that are in the middle of their contract it's because they are sending the wrong signal and don't care about their current customers.
They really can't win can they?

I actually went all 3 of the Sprint Stores in my local market and asked to be put on their waiting list. It wasn't a formal waiting list but 2 of them have now called me back and offered to pre-register me. They said that if I do pre-register and put a deposit of $100 down, they can sell it to me after 5pm on Friday, June 5th!
I am not a Sprint Premier Customer although I meet all the requirements to be one.

I found out I was a premier customer by seeing the designation on mysprint account site. Have not gotten an invite yet but have reached out to Sprint to find out if they have gone out yet and to also see if we can just order one over the phone or online instead of dealing with the chaos of the stores.
Well, this "Premier" club that nearly all of us are in sure seems exclusive. I've been with Sprint continuously since 1997, thusfar haven't seen any benefits to "Premier" status except more junk mail and occasional semi-ego stroking email.
At least my Sprint account has not been screwed up too badly for a few months, that alone is a relief. Not that it has anything to do with "Premier" status, I guess Sprint simply has been too busy screwing up other people's accounts.
I haven't seen any invites to this silly "party" either, even though I've got 5 phones and they're *all* Palms - AND I'm now out of contract.
The Pre does not appeal to me because of the missing expandable memory and a few other factors (no emulator w/sync, I'm tired of being a beta tester, etc), but the point that Sprint's datamining didn't even identify ME as a potential "party" recruit speaks volumes about their incompetence. No matter, I'm happy to stay out of contract, and I've apparently got the "best" PalmOS smartphones they'll ever produce (Treo 755s). With plenty of replacements available on eBay for less than the cost of an insurance replacement...
I've been a Sprint customer for over 10 years. I am a Premier, but got no invitation. :( I walked by the store, and the employee was kinda snotty/snooty in the way she told me that it was by invitation only. :( Hmph!
(By the way, this was in NYC. The 6th Avenue store in the Village.)
