Next week the holiday shopping season officially kicks into gear, and while this blogger has yet to even consider what to get most people on his list, he can at least tell you that if you’re looking to pick up a Sprint Palm Pre, Black Friday may be your friend. The folks at Radio The Shack will have the Palm Pre (new contracts only) on sale starting at 5:30 am on the day after Thanksgiving for the price of $99.99.
Yeah, that’s more than you’ll pay at Amazon and the same you'll fork over to Walmart online today, but there’s something to be said for being able to walk out the door with the phone in your hand. Curiously, The Shack will not have any deals on the Palm Pixi, meaning for one cent under a Franklin you can get a Pixi, or a Pixi with a bigger screen, faster processor, smaller form factor, and WiFi (otherwise known as a Pre). Decisions decisions.
Thanks to Drew for the tip!

Wonder if that is only with a new contract or if it can be done to an existing contract but adding a new line (and there for a two year account) for the Pre...
You have to look close, but it says "With new 2 year contract"
A New Line whether you have an existing account or not is still a new line, so yes the pricing would be the same.
New Line = New Previously non-existent phone number = New 2 Year Contract = Same Pricing
I hear best buy will have one for even less. It will be an unadvertised door buster. We'll see.
The prices are equal but the devices aren't -_-
you have pixi listed twice...sorry, gramar police are out tonight ; )
the funny thing is, the "gramar" police should at least know how to spell their own name.. its graMMar.. not gramar!
:) sorry, i guess you can call me the grammar f.b.i
The Gramar police don't use spell check XD
It's "grammar", not "gramar".
Palm Pre is also available at Dell for 99.99 with new contract or 139.99 with contract renewal.

I think it's been $79.99 at Amazon with a new plan for a few days now.

edit: nevermind just read the part in the article about Amazon.
Just purchased my pre and a pixi for my wife for $79 and $24 respectively. I'll wait a few days for prices like that. But it is good news that retailers are making webOS available and affordable to the public.
I have had the Pre since July. Bought the Pixi for the wife at the Sprint store. Yes paid $199 with rebate coming it will be $99 (yes hate the wait), but it was worth it as the port happened right away. Got a deal on our month bill with a family plan and other things the sales person did for us.
As for performance, Pixi is doing great. My wife loves it and I do too. Love the keyboard, wished the Pre had the same keyboard. I think I type faster on the Pixi then the Pre. The comparison videos tell a good story on how they compare. Also the WiFi has not been an issue and my wife would never know when to turn it on.
The one thing I wish was easier for the Pixi was turning it on. You have to push the power button and then slide the dot, where with the Pre you can just slide it open and bam you are good to go.
The said, Loving the Pixi and it is better then all the reviews have said.
ive been a palm pre user and owner since its release at the radioshack i work at since july. i love the phone, and im going to be honest, its the only reason i got the job at radioshack. i love that i was able to put songs on my pre via itunes, but since apple put that patch in itunes, i no longer cannot do it. if anyone has any other ideas or any other programs that would be the same, please feel free to the info! email me because i never get on this website. my email is iceman19009@yahoo.com i appreciate any suggestions and advice! thanks in advance!!
it'll also be on sale thanksgiving as well. since all "shack friday" deals will be available on thursday as well. so skip the crowds!
