You can still bring up the menu on the Palm Pre while in landscape mode. You may have noticed that when you put the Palm Pre into landscape mode in the browser or in email (after applying the Palm Pre Landscape mode email trick), the menubar on the top of the Pre disappears. Good news: it's still there, you just can't see it.
Rdaex in our forums was amongst several PreCentral.net members to discover the trick. Just hit one of the volume buttons and the Pre will not only show the volume indicator at right, but at left the menubar will re-appear and you can tap the Menu to bring it up.

damn somebody had to come across that by accident no way I would of thought to press the volume... Lol

should it be?

Wow, that's all kinds of awesome. This may be obvious but I'll point out this works whether the Pre is rotated clockwise (volume buttons on top) or counter-clockwise (volume buttons on bottom) so you can choose whichever is more ergonomic for you.I think I prefer the buttons on top.
Clockwise with the buttons on top, pressing the up volume button feels just like pressing a shutter button on a point-n-shoot camera. Wouldn't it be sweet if the up button took a picture in the Camera app? (It doesn't, I tried. It still changes the volume and brings up the menu.) Anyone want to lobby Palm to see if they would add that as an easy preference in a future update?
NIIIIIIIIICE
Volume buttons on bottom works best for me as I use the gesture area to scroll with in landscape mode.
This is nice, but if you choose Bookmarks, then you HAVE to go portrait mode. Defeats the purpose.
This doesn't defeat the purpose. The purpose is to get to the menu while in landscape mode, not to actually use it! HEHEHEH J/J
Nice
I was mentioned?
They like me... they really like me!
