Jessi sent in a tip yesterday (and it was noted elsewhere) that over at this Sprint Gurus thread, lgmack lets the world know that Best Buy has some Pre Accessories in their system. The "In stock date" is today, May 10th, but what that means for actual store availability of the accessories or the Pre is as-yet unclear.
The accessories? Five Pre cases comprised of three acrylic cases, a "Palme Pre case" and a leather case. Also in the system is the "Touchstone Kit" priced at $69.99 -- a price we'd seen previously confirmed from Sprint's internal system. We're actually counting this as great news because, as we've reported before, the Touchstone requires a different battery door that can be purchased separately. Best Buy listing it as a "kit" seems to imply that the battery door will be included at the $70 price point.
Thanks to Jessi and mahootzki for the tip!

You referenced a Sprint Gurus thread and its actually a Sprint Users forum thread.
Does this mean that we can get the accessories before the actual phone comes out??
If the date of release on this is correct (May 10th), that makes the June 7th date seem less likely. Why would they release the accessories (or at least stock them) a MONTH before the release?
May 17th seems all the more practical now :D
Here's hoping I'm right
Just because this item is in Best Buys system doesn't mean they have it or will sell it. They could be just preparing for the launch. Whenever that it.
In-stock generally means date of availability. A few months ago I went to Bestbuy to purchase a particular JVC camcorder, it was on a Friday. The sales person mentioned that Bestbuy had a newer model, he showed me the newer models which were under the display counter. He had to check to see if it was showing in-stock (which means the date he can sell it), it was showing in-stock for the following Monday. So, from my experience Bestbuy did have a product before the in-stock date. By the way, the manager was kind enough to approve the sale of the newer model camcorder that Friday.
Right. So if the in stock date is TODAY, it means they should already have it or have it in very soon. All I'm saying is it would be silly to have the accessories available for sale for almost a month before the product they go with is out.
It lends credence to the May 17th date.
I personally doubt may17th. I think the most likely path for Palm or Sprint is to Advertise a product before its release.
Even if they announced it today, thats less than a week of advertising. Possible, i suppose, but unlikely.
On the otherhand I couldnt see them releasing Accessories without a product either (even though i have seen it before).
I theorize that we are still on track for a possible June7th launch. Which would also fit as a solution for the points mentioned just mentioned.
The Instinct launched before it was advertised. If my memory serves me correctly, the iPhone launched before it was advertised.
Non-company Sprint stores (badged but not owned) were selling the Treo Pro two days before launch.
No read on the accessories being ready. They're ready, go ahead and sell them. But don't call Sprint or Palm and expect tech support for them until launch.
Well I think May 17th is less likely. When the Instink was coming out there were a bunch of ads and Palm has already noted the ad campaign for the Pre would be the stuff of dreams.
With only seven days so far all we've seen are ads for Sprint with the Pre making Stan Lee like appearances, and plenty of rumors. What happened to the giant Facebook ad?
"First half '09" when June 30th rolls out and I have no Pre I will be disappointed but I will still wait even if it takes another 6 months.
There is nothing better on the market. WinMo- yuck, At&t and the iphone- gross, and Im no Crackberry chick either. Waiting impatiently, but waiting.
quantity is kinda low, better get on line now.
I work at Best Buy Mobile and upon reading this story I checked this morning during a meeting to see if we had any in stock/in transit to our location and both were 0's across the board for our store and the district.
So this is just BB entering it into the system, while stores DO NOT have this physically in stock, as new product is scanned as it's arrived by receiving to show up in the system.
Well how often do trucks move on sundays? lol Check back throughout the week, I'd bet those numbers go up :D
