Palm Pre Box Materials Leak Out

In our Palm Pre forums, LemonadeRDX has discovered a treasure trove of images: the box and materials for the Palm Pre.  There doesn't seem to be much information we can garner just yet -- but the Pre is coming!  The images appear to come from MaxPDA.com and include shots of the box from all sides and also a quick look at the an information card that comes in the box (the Spanish side of said card).

That said, we do know what's coming in the box: The phone, a microUSB cable, a stereo headset, travel charger, battery, and a phone pouch.

The getting started card describes creating a new "Palm Profile," which gives you access to automatic updates, secure backups, and much more.

More shots after the break!

Thanks Dieter! Thanks LemonadeRDX!

I appreciate you giving us every itty bitty thing that shows up about the Pre.

I want to cry...

But... where's the beef?

Something is funky with your pics. It'll zoom in on one pic, but if I click on other pics after it will keep showing the same zoomed picture?

yeah had some bad html, fixed up now (i hope)

Its a coming....

fixed up the entry

Palm has done a marvelously thorough job in designing a new, better, even greener user experience!

Freaking Fabulous!!!! It makes me want to dance.

It seems like everything is pretty much ready to get this phone out. It seems more and more like May 17th could be the date. Why June 7th!?!

On the brochure it shows that you will be able to transfer from a computer to the Pre....

my panties are wet....and im not even a lady!!! woohooo!!! im tired of this hide n seek Palm is playin with us!

in the 3 photo what they are trying to say is if you do not take any action with the notifications when the come in eg e-mail,sms in a few seconds it becomes an icon at the bottom right of the screen and you can then tap the icon at the bottom right to attend of that field of service and swipe across to totally remove the notice..

Yea, I want to know more about my computer & Pre connections. I want to use my software not gmail, etc. for contacts.

11 photo said see the guide for how movements starts quick access and launch NOTE WELL its hard for me to make out some of the words because of how the photos are taken i will try my best .........

CAN I HAZ PRE NOW!

No! Go clean your room!

wooot my plan ends June 7 and im with sprint!

your 2 year agreement ends, not your plan. and if 6/7 is your 24 months....you've been eligible for upgrading for 2 months. =) we only require you to be 22 months into your 24 month contract to give you full upgrades and you become eligible on the 1st of the month. =)

Actually if he is in SERO or some other incompatible plan and plans to get a Pre, then he technically is saying the right thing! Ha ha ha!

wooot my plan ends June 7 and im with sprint!

Okay Wheres the Pre itself? Its just a dumb but AWESOME PRE box!

1st pic says "To utilize your Palm Pre phone, you must accept the terms and conditions of Palm and create A PALM PROFILE - by introducing an active email address.

Why do I need a Palm profile?

A Palm profile lets you access services such as automatic backup of your data and much more.

The configuration profile is different from the Palm e-mail settings in the phone.
To set up email, see page 11"

I CAN HAZ PRE NOW?

In the second pic it says "Inspired by and designed in California." Huh? Inspired by California?

"
How can I transfer data from your computer?

On the computer, look for an email to the address used to configure the profile of Palm. Click the link in the email to verify your Palm profile. The link will take you to a website where one could make data transfers at once to your phone from desktop organizers such as Outlook and Palm Desktop. This transfer is the way to get data from your old Palm smartphone to your new phone.

How can *I* transfer data from *your* computer? Hmmm...

instead of once, they mean "a one time" transfer. That is," The link will take you to a website where you can make a one time transfer from desktop organizers such as outlook or Palm Desktop"

This is the way that we'll be able to get all of our old data from our Treos/Centros to the Pre.

"una sola vez" translates into "one time".

Muchas gracias, ¡prueben el cordero!

The third picture shows two different phone icons. One line says "To answer a call press >(the original phone icon)" Then the line after that says "To configure or listen to voicemail
Launcher > (new phone icon) > (voicemail icon) > Listen to the instructions

THIS + ME = HAZ PRE

i'm so happy it will come with a carry pouch so then i won't have to buy my own. good move by palm...

thanks for the translations!

why would the person taking the pics only show the spanish stuff? could Palm be using a mexican company to print the manuals and boxes?

The pics were posted on a Chinese website. English, Spanish, it's all Greek to them.

More translations please...

PAAAAALM!!

damn you palm/sprint for making me wait...i almost want to make you suffer by not buying the phone, but its such a beautiful phone i can't...DAMN YOU!!

The guy who took all the pictures is from a packaging company. He claimed that they received the first sample package "yesterday" (5/6/09) - the box showed 5/4/09. They will receive the Pres from Longhua factories - a Foxconn subsidiary. The package was of a testing unit.

Now question is how long does it take from packaging, transporting to the US, and distributing to Sprint stores? June 7 the earliest possible?

The unit was to be tested with "extreme shaking test". Wonder how harsh that is?

The "extreme shaking test" turns out to be a "falling off" test.

The 10th picture states under system requirements:
Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard

What about those of us who are running OS X Panther? Has anyone heard if the Pre will still work with a Mac running an OS X lower than v10.5?

The official Palm site was missing Pre system requirements info. Any info would be appreciated, thanks.

Those 3 RS barcodes are for RadioShack!

Photo 3

Is that visual voicemail>?

Good lord. They even copied the iPhone box - shape, size, front photo...come on, Palm, do something different...

Actually, the box does have a pretty neat angle to it on the bottom, and the plastic formed shell holding the phone looks pretty cool.

Nice to see a good un-boxing experience! Think this phone will be a winner. It will jar Apple, Nokia, Motorola, and RIM into improving their smartphones, so everyone wins.
