As we head into these last days of July, it’s time to take another look at the App Catalog. Wait, who are we kidding, we look at the App Catalog about a hundred times every day regardless of where in the month we are. Here’s what new:
- World Time, while not a remarkable app in any manner, stands out as the first App Catalog app from our new benevolent overlords at HP. And it gives you the current time for any city on the planet.
Update: Palm's own Chuq Von Rospach notes in the comments:
"World time" was only intended for internal and got published by accident. We've pulled it from public distribution. It's not an "official" HP app intended for external publication, but is part of a "let's all learn how to program webOS" that some parts of HP is doing.
- BlogBooster takes the post-to-your-blog app and puts it into hyperdrive - it supports posting to Wordpress, TypePad, Blogger, and Tumblr.
- Craigs Secretary Pro is made for both Craigslist junkies and those searching for something specific alike; simply enter what you’re looking for an the app will periodically search Craigslist to find matching listings.
So yeah, thems be the highlights. The rest (with another healthy heaping of test prep apps from Upward Mobility) are after the break.

I thought there were multiple apps from H/P. probably all in beta I guess.
I have a suggestion for future App updates. Could you organize the list by vendor? That way I can easily scan past the AppSpammers. Thanks!
Good idea.
Sorry...almost done porting our iPhone education platform, I know most of you guys don't care about these random test prep topics...
You guys don't have a set for the Architectural Registration Exams do you?
Hmm...I'll take a look at this market..
You might take a look at LEED AP certification study materials as well, that's a popular one for architects, engineers and contractors.
Please port them all over. Many of us do appreciate them.
they have purpose to those that need them. At least your not dijit.
I tried World Time on my Sprint Pre and it doesn't work. I mean I can't do anything with it. No menu. It doesn't respond to any taps at all.
I thought that as well. It seems you have to tap on the name of the city, and a drop down list pops up to select the place you want to check.
nb
I used it on my Sprint Pre and it works but the usability is very limited. Also a couple bugs.
it would be nice to have a national electric code reference or study guide for us license-hungry electrishmans out there
Hmm...we have the CompTIA DHTI+ which I know some electricians have been taking. I'll look at what's out there. Is there a certification exam you take?
I cant decide if there is any irony in the World Time app not being available in my country.....?
World time doesn't seem to know about DST, at least for US-Eastern...
cool, where's angry birds?

chuq
sounds like i have a collector's item.
ha! good call on that!
Thanks for the response, Chuq! I have to admit, I was quite disappointed in the first HP app. As for me, I understand it was a mistake and will forget it ever happened (and I hope everyone else does, too).
What happen? LOL
