Crikey mate, that ROM is chock full of interesting stuff! Edoan on our forums uncovered something quite interesting for our Australian friends: evidence that the Pre will be landing not just on Telstra as we reported last month, but that it may very well also be coming to Optus (via Singapore-based parent Singtel):
wap.cingular?ISP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
10.1.1.180http://mmsc.telstra.com:8002
http://mms.singtel.com:10021/mmsc#
wap.voicestream.comyhs_nullhs_null
10.128.1.69http://mms.gprs.rogers.com
At this rate, it looks like everybody’s going to be getting the Pre at some point, which can only be a good thing for you and me (more users equal more apps) and for Palm. It is worth noting that the iPhone is also available on Telstra and Optus (and Vodafone and Virgin Mobile) in Australia.
Thanks to Mike for the tip!

YES!!
I have been waiting since CES (Jan) fo this little beauty to make its way here. Now Palm let's have a leak from an internal document either from Palm or the telco's here identifying the date !!!!!
What date would you like?
(right clicks Telstra's logo to add to the Palm and Sprint logo file)
Are these GSM providers or CDMA?
I wonder how that feels to select a carrier instead of selecting a device, and thereby, that device's carrier.
Duplicate post, sorry.
I just wish that palm would have release a unlocked GSM version.
I vote for unlocked GSM in EU.. ;-)
Don't see how that proves it. A lot of phones have settings stored. My Centro from Hong Kong automatically worked with T-Mobile GPRS when I put the SIM card in.
If GSM is unlocked in Europe, the device itself would work both in AT&T's a T-Mobile's 2G network, but not necessarily 3G as frequencies for 3G in Europe differ from the ones used in the U.S.
That would certainly be a disappointment. I'm hoping to one day have an unlocked Pre that let's me roam in Africa and Asia. Thanks for the heads up.
Good to hear about Optus. Hope it launches on both, neeeeeed a date pleeeeease..
does the palm pre support 3's sim cards in australia? i'm with 3 and my contract is due in over a year, so can't really switch to telstra or optus yet. i would love to get an unlocked one if it supports 3's network.
