Installing Homebrew Applications on your Palm Pre is easier than you think, even now after Palm has closed the email loophole. While many bemoaned the closing of the email loophole that allowed direct installation of Homebrew apps on the Pre, the truth of the matter is that it's a small hiccup in the homebrew road.
To that end, sir_mycroft in our Homebrew forums has posted an easy-to-follow how-to guide for installing Homebrew apps without going through the somewhat difficult steps of rooting your Pre. The guide focuses on Windows XP as you'll need to be connected via USB to install the apps.
Meanwhile, Pre Homebrew app development continues apace, with new apps coming all the time. Here's a small sampling of what's new in our Homebrew forums:

Dang, time to start playing something other than Sudoku. I'd like to know how to add more launcher pages without rooting. I know the code is there that can be uncommented out, but I'm trying my best to avoid rooting my second device.
That Xbox app is awesome and VERY well constructed. It looks and feels like a pay app. It is top notch!
This is all GREAT..... BUT it does not help out those of us who are on pre-intel macs to install homebews. I hope the guys are still trying to figure out a way to sideload the apps!!!!!!!!!
Pre-Intel Macs? There was no reason to own a Mac until Intel chips were being used! Don't tell me you have a lousy and slow G5 chip! Or worse yet a G4 chip! Apple played a huge joke on their customers when they switched! I hope you don't plan on getting Snow Leopard!

Everytime I try and load an app to my pre it loads it on the emulator and not my phone ? I am very new at this type of stuff and dont know what I am doing wrong or how I go about adding them to my phone ?? Any help would be greatly appreciated
