Preware is a revolutionary webOS on-device installer capable of installing normal homebrew applications, advanced homebrew applications, themes, patches, services, plugins and any other future package type that can be imagined.

Preware is able to install any and all applications from the PreCentral Homebrew App Gallery feed; themes from the PreCentral Themes feed; webOS patches from the WebOS Patches feed; applications, services and plugins from the WebOS Internals package feed; applications from the webOS Group package feed; applications and services from the Canuck Software package feed; applications and services from the PreYourMind package feed; and Linux command-line applications from the Optware package feed.

This means that Preware is the only package installation application you will ever need to install any and all available webOS applications, themes, patches, services and plugins. As an added feature, you can enable and disable individual feeds as you please.

Preware is known to work on both the Pre and the Pixi, and is likely to work on any future webOS device.

You do not need to "root" your Pre to install or use Preware, but because Preware has advanced functionality to enable the installation of advanced homebrew packages, themes, patches, services and plugins, it cannot be installed with fileCoaster or PreLoad - you must use WebOS Quick Install to install Preware for the very first time. Alternatively, you can use the stand-alone Preware Installer at the download link below (note that contrary to what the text next to that download link says, you cannot use fileCoaster) to install Preware over a USB connection from a host computer.

Once you have Preware loaded, you can use Preware itself to install absolutely any other package available for the Pre or Pixi and you can also use Preware to update itself.
