Looks like carrier branding won't be visible on the device (which should please unlockers). The only other difference we can see is that this Pre rocks a German-style QWERTZ keyboard and the symbol on the "h" key is a Euro symbol instead of a dollar sign.
Beyond those keyboard differences, hopefully what we're looking at is essentially the same hardware that's in the process of getting the necessary approval for North American release. Maybe that "Late October" release date rumor is less crazy than we originally thought?

I can't read german but with google translator seems that the Palm Pre will be a UMTS/HSDPA device so very fast amd seems that it will be sold also unlocked. :-)

It will be O2 exclusive, but it will be sold unlocked by O2. And it will be a HSDPA device.

I want my Pre asap, but I also don't want bankrupcy, so I guess it'll depend on the price. Also, I don't want a QUERTZ-keyboard, so the German route is not open to me. O2 UK? Please? Sell unlocked! In October? Pretty please?
Im with you on this one. I am currently with Vodafone and not keen to change unless I absolutely have to... Just wish they would hurry up and release the device. I cant seem to find the details anymore on the 02 website.
