Hi,

Looks amazing but for some reason I can't download it, I click on the link you posted but nothing happens?

You can't download it with the Pre. It says, that "there is no application to view the file", eventhough the PDF Viewer is there. The web browser has to have an embedded PDF viewer to download/save the file, similar to your PC browser's embedded PDF viewer. Just save it on your desktop then drag and drop it onto your phone. The PDF Viewer will then access it.

It's pretty kwel. I didnt know you could delete a whole word when typing. "up" +"backspace"

I didnt know you could take screenshot of IM's, picture on facebook, web and ect. hold "orange solid Key" + "up" + "P" at the same time and a picture is sent to your photo app labled "screenshots"

I also didnt know you could answer phone and unlock phone by opeaning up slider, instead of moving that ball or symbol up. Thank Goodness i will never have to do that again.

Last i found out you could just hit any key to turn screen back on when it went off. I was still tring to hit power button each time.

Copy/Paste IS NOT [SYM] + C/X/V it is [Hold Gesture Area] + C/X/V.

Also orange + C/X/V but I like the gesture area better for this.

Thank you so much for clearing that up... I was going insane trying to get copy/paste to work with symbol.

How do i transfer my centro contacts to my pre

This is awesome!

It says in the guide that the global search option lets you search emails... This is wrong right? Or am I missing something?

I don't think it searches emails (yet). But, if you have your pre connected to your EAS account, you can search your company's global address book (without bringing all those contacts down to the phone)...which I think is pretty cool.

Great document, thanks so much!

I think it is mistaken about how to add events in the calendar. At least, that's not how it works on my Pre. This PDF says to hit the '+' icon on the screen, but there is none on my screen.

I just touch a time slot and I'm entering an event for it. If I hit the 'i' graphic to the right I'll be able to edit the details, like the date and time (best way I can tell to add an event in the distant future).

As mentioned above, universal search doesn't check emails from what I understand.

You can also pick the date first and then enter the event. This will help if you want to verify that you are free on that date at that time before creating an event.

Simply tap the title bar, enter the date you want to go to and tap "Go To Date".

Jumping back to "today" can also be done by tapping the title bar followed by tapping "Go To Today".

looks really good. I have already learned a few things !! one question: what do the page numbers? refer to ? p.46 etc. ??

OK, I see that * Many are from the 344-page user guide that is not included with the Pre. I guess the questions becomes where to find this users guide (I am guessing it is on the Palm web site).

I am trying to download the PDF document about my new PRE (to my computer) but it will not do anything. When I click on download PDF it opens up a new window on my computer. But does not give me any option for saving it nor does it allow me to enlarge the font so I can actually read the PDF document. PLEASE HELP...

I am a former Pre owner who got one on the first day. It had the battery problems that have been well documented, but early on, the Sprint employees were no help and didn't have a solution, so I returned the Pre and decided to wait a little while until the problems with the early versions were addressed. I continue to read the forum entries and will jump back into Pre ownership at some point.

But I have a question:

I downloaded the "Palm Pre Tips and Tricks" to view it. I have a Mac, and the document came through with only unreadable symbols--no real words. Is that an indication that the Pre might not be compatible with my Mac? I have old Palm Tungsten contacts, memos, etc., on that Mac that I plan to sync with the Pre. Have any of you had problems with that type of scenario? Any thoughts?

Thanks.

thank you for a great compilation!
