We are proud to announce the PreCentral.net webOS Theme Gallery! Like our Homebrew App Gallery, the Theme Gallery consists of user-contributed themes to help you make the most out of your Palm Pre.
The gallery has themes that were made with Jason Robitaille's excellent - and brand spankin' new - Web OS Theme Builder desktop application. They are available to all PreCentral.net members as a zip file download, which you can then install via Jason Robitaille's excellent - and also newly updated - WebOS Quick Install tool. We have a full How-To article all written up to help you through the steps.
We have to give huge thanks to the members of the Pre community who helped make this possible: Jason Robitaille, madolen for his huge batch of Pre themes to get us started, Sarah Peterman for her incredible work organizing and fostering our webOS Themes Forum, and to everybody who has been creating themes in the forums.
One quick note: themes basically work by replacing system files on your Pre - mainly graphics files - and so are a use-at-your-own-risk affair. As with patches, you should always remove themes before installing any webOS update, the good news is that the new version of WebOS Quick Install makes it easy.
Go on and take a look! After the break, some nitty gritty details for you developers out there.
If you're a theme developer and would like to have your themes listed in our gallery, simply hit us up on our contact form and select "Request Theme Developer Access." Be sure to tell us your username.
On the more nerdy side, we are providing our themes in a Zip file form that contains an XML file with all the details of the theme as well as the files themselves. We're working on providing a standard IPKG format feed - if anybody is interested in pitching in, hit us up. Themes in that format are already available both on-device on the latest version of Preware as well as from PreThemer.com.
For now, though, we're going to stick with providing the themes via a zip file that you download to your desktop and install via WebOS Quick Install - using that method means that you're less likely to run into the dreaded app memory limitation and also provides some flexibility for future changes.

Looking forward to some interesting themes.
HELP
I know this is an odd question but how do I revert back to the normal Pre theme. I tried doing it in the quick install menu under themes, but the Darth Pre and simpsons themes are stuck on there. even after I have done a full and partial erase. Please help me!
Don't know how using Quick Install, but using Preware all I had to do was remove all themes that I had installed. I did notice that if I had more than one theme installed at the same time and removed one, that aspects of one or more of the other themes seemed to show through. I think that at least with Preware it's a good idea to install only one theme and remove it before switching to another.
You might try reinstalling the themes you are having trouble with using Preware, and then removing those themes with Preware as well.
Or, maybe someone has a "Default Theme" that can be added to the gallery so that we would absolutely be able to get the original files back.
Great thank you so much, this is what happens when you have a novice trying to tweak his own gadget
I did the same thing you did happened to me! But then i went into Preware and download the theme and after it re-booted i went back into Preware & removed the theme! So then you have your default them that came with the phone!
YAY!!!!

Someone should make a star trek theme
That would be very nice.
Very nice and geeky. Yes please.
I wouldn't mind a James Bond theme.
You got Dexter and Lost....How bout a House Theme!
How did I not think of this, I love this show.. This is now at the top of my list
Yes House!
Props to the dev coomunity for this. I would never personally use any of these themes, but the fact that they have been put into such a seemingly user-friendly format is awesome and speaks to the promising potential of this device. Nice work!
Mass Effect them is a must! Also Star trek would be nice.
if you could do a Mormon theme that would be awesome. you could use the angel Moroni, prophets, salt lake temple, scriptures, or other pictures found at www.lds.org, or www.mormon.org, or www.christ.og
a base Christian theme would be nice also.
Totally! And you can add the magoc glasses and the gold plates but make it so you can only read them through the pre cameraso only the chosen prophet can see the theme. And you can makean added feature so only the men are allowd in to see the theme and it will be totally awesome. Also you can charge lots of money every month to use the theme so our lord and savior can be glorified.
I see someone is spewing some hate today.
An uncalled for response in this forum. It's embarrassing when people can't respond civilly.
These themes are sick! I can't wait for someone to make a Jordan theme
I will probably dive into this after Thursday along with a lot of the newer webOS quick install upgrades. It's tough holding back!
Preware's Package Manager Service 0.9.4 can now install both PreThemer.com and PreCentral.net themes: http://bit.ly/bR8KF
Someone already made a Jordan theme. It's been available for a couple weeks.

can some1 help me root my pre............ i get all the downloads and stuff but once it gets to the "cmd" thing or putty im lost need help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
can someone make a complete default theme, which includes all the default screens like boot and so forth. Like others i've made mistakes and cant seem to get it back to normal.
A default theme would be really awesome, I was using the family guy theme from preware (which is a really nice theme btw) and it changed a ton of windows and now when ever I try to load a different theme, or even erase the theme I still have random windows that are family guy.
Specifically the lock screen after you slide to unlock if you have a number code to put in that is still stewie shaving, its just random when you have another theme up. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
